Ballast Valve Design
- View from above.
- Default setting is closed where the springs compress the tube blocking the ballast from dropping away.
- When ballast needs to be dropped, the solenoid causes the metal rod to move right which compresses the springs and opens up the tube allowing the ballast material to pass.
- Material for tube:
Rubber- low temperatures will become rigid and may shatter- Nylon?
- Plastic?
