CW Beacon

  • This is the backup beacon, it is connected to the daughter AVR via an I/O pin and will be broadcasting CW throughout the flight.
  • The radio module is a 400T121 FM radio transmitter, its output power is 25mW however to make it legal (10mW) it'll be coupled with an antenna that will reduce its ERP. The module is the 3.3v version with power being supplied from the daughter AVR's regulator.
  • Using WB8ELK's code as a guide I've setup the daughter AVR to transmit a single character every count and then every 100 counts to transmit a string of data, there are 4 different strings that will be transmitted in turn. The strings will contain live data which will also be transmitted on the main downlink.
  • I'm not going to release the strings - if you do manage to decode them send me an email or get onto #highaltitude on irc.freenode.net and tell me there :-D
